• The verse states that wisdom is "first of all pure." Why do you think purity (integrity and holiness) is listed as the foundational requirement before peace-loving or mercy? Can true wisdom exist without a pure motive?
• The word "submissive" (sometimes translated as "open to reason" or "willing to yield") is often misunderstood as weakness. In the context of wisdom, how does being willing to listen to others actually show greater intelligence and strength?
• James identifies wisdom by its "good fruit." If you were to look at your interactions over the last week, what kind of "fruit" did they produce? Was the result peace and consideration, or was it something else?
• How difficult is it to remain "impartial" when dealing with people who have different backgrounds or opinions than your own?
• Why is sincerity (being without hypocrisy) the "finishing touch" on this list of traits?
• Which type of wisdom leads to a more sustainable and peaceful life?
